Ambient Occlusion Baking in Maya

For issue 167 of 3D World Magazine I was asked to create a tutorial on how to create high quality Ambient Occlusion maps for rendering and post work in Maya.

Unfortunately the article is no longer online but you might be able to get a copy of the issue on back order HERE.

Understanding Blendshapes

This tutorial originally appeared in issue 168 of 3D World Magazine but is now available on Creative Bloq. It covers the correct way to create, edit and troubleshoot Blendshapes in Maya. As well as demonstrating alternate uses for Blendshapes other than for facial animation.

You can read the tutorial here.

Creating a Multi-Node Camera Rig

In issue 174 of 3D World Magazine I demonstrated a simple way to set up a more physically accurate Camera rig in Maya.

You can read the tutorial here.

Building a Lego Mini-Figure in 3D

To celebrate the release of 'The Lego Movie' I was asked by Creative Bloq to produce a tutorial covering how to recreate the classic Lego figure. While modelled in Maya, the tutorial was designed to be software agnostic and adaptable to other polygon modelling packages.

You can read the tutorial here.

10 Things you probably didn't know you could do in Zbrush

Another commission from Creative Bloq, this time covering some hints and tips for new Zbrush users.  While common knowledge to regular users, the tutorial covered some of the forgotten or less used features of the software.

You can read the tutorial here.
